When you walk in a Leadership Academy classroom, you feel the energy as young students research topics, create interactive projects, and share them with their classmates. Activities like these give our students real-world, problem-solving experiences and ownership of their learning while building global competencies. We are proud to be a Leader in Me Lighthouse school and we practice the 7 Habits for success every day. We focus on Balanced Literacy and Math through guided reading, small group instruction, customized tutorials, ongoing student data tracking and goal setting. We balance opportunities for students to become proficient in basic skills as well as work through rigorous and authentic problems. We champion Project Based Learning through the design and development of curriculum topics to engage students in meaningful and real-world challenges. We use Technology Integration by putting tools in students’ hands to research, document, collaborate, create, and share learning with the world. T.H.E.
